Rhonda Kay Morris, 68, passed away on October 2nd, 2025, in Omaha, NE. Rhonda was born on January 8th, 1957, in Stilwell, OK. Rhonda is proceeded in death with her father, Lester Holiman, Mother, Bernice Marzee Holiman, Sister, Elizabeth (Annie) Bowman, Kathy Jo (Edwin) Holsman.
Rhonda grew up in between Oklahoma and Missouri and eventually settled down in Kansas. While she did not attend a traditional school, her wisdom and knowledge were vast, honed by a lifetime of hard work raising her family. She was a self- made woman. She passed down lessons of resilience, unconditional love, and the joy of simple pleasures. Her legacy is measured by the strength and love that she instilled in her children and grandchildren.
She was a voracious reader who never met a book she didn't love, and a self- taught artist whose hands were rarely still. She lovingly cultivated beautiful plants and created intricate embroidery, yet she was just as comfortable being a free spirit, enjoying the wind on her face while riding on the back of a motorcycle. She would try her luck at lottery tickets every chance she got. Her greatest love was sharing her gift for baking, ensuring no family member ever left her home hungry.
Rhonda is survived by her husband, Steve Morris of Colby, KS and her children: Ima Ellis of Colby, KS, Colby (Mike) Cole of Culbertson, NE Lester Ellis of Melrose, NM, Matthew (Rosa) Ellis of Jal, NM, Randall Cain of Colby, KS.
8 grandkids, JoAnn (Patrick) Sweasey of Nineveh, Indiana, Amanda (Andy) Jacobs Hays, KS, Dwayne Vinsonler of Culbertson, NE, Delshay Vinsonler of Fort Scott, KS, Monica Ebert of Oberlin, KS, Jimmy (Eve) Cole of Culbertson, NE, Tiffany Brooks of Jal, NM and Cole Ellis of Jal, NM and 9 great grandchildren.
“Those we love don’t go away,
They walk beside us every day —
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed, and very dear.”
