Richard Allen Olney

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Richard Allen Olney, who departed this life on October 4, 2026. Richard was born on April 19, 1960, in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Richard was a man who never met a stranger. For over 40 years, he made a career out of hospitality, working as a dedicated and beloved server. To Richard, the restaurant was not just a job-it was a community.

Outside of work, Richard was a dedicated father and grandfather. He cherished the time spent with his family and the memories they made together.

Richard is survived by his mother, Helen; his four sons, Craig, Brandon, Jason, and Kevin; and his five grandchildren, Maxwell, Lucas, Zoe, Hope, and Hayes. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard, and his brother, Dan.

Family and friends are invited to attend a service celebrating Richard's life on Monday, October 19, 2026, at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, located at 4712 S. 82nd St., Ralston, NE 68127.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Nebraska Humane Society.
