Rick was the first born son of Leroy O. Heger and Joyce E. Heger (Land). Ricky Lee Heger was born in Boone, Iowa on August 18, 1959

Rick passed away surrounded by his loving family in Omaha, Nebraska on September 6, 2025. He was 66 years old.

Rick was a creative person, always adding his artistic and personal touch to most everything. He had a deep passion for cars and had extensive knowledge about them. Rick found joy in fishing and boating, he loved getting out on the water. As a young man, he spent countless hours dirt biking, embracing the thrill of the ride. He was a trained welder and worked as one for many years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Heger.


Rick is survived by his mother, Joyce Heger; His Daughters, Alison Wade and Elizabeth Heinert(Cody) His Brothers Michael Heger(Chris), Kevin Heger and Scott Heger(Jen) His Sisters Laurise Hunt(Richard) and Jennifer Heger(Josh)

As well as his Grandchildren: Jashen Wade, Ahbree Wade, Jackson Strimple, Amariah Wade, Anorah Wade, Audrey Heinert and Elliott Heinert Along with many Nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, Lot F, on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 11:30 AM. Spoken word by Pastor Jalaal Wade from Launch Church


Following the service, family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life Luncheon at The American Legion Post 1 Omaha, 7811 Davenport St., Omaha, NE 68114, from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM.


In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to the Rick Heger Funeral Fund to help honor his life and memory.
