Her Story
Robbie (Mickie) Lee Jackson: Black Queen, matriarch, daughter, sister, mother, wife, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and now ancestor received her heavenly ancestral wings during her final sunset on September 30, 2025, in Omaha, Nebraska. For twenty-five tender days her devoted daughters lovingly provided 24-hour care in her home in hospice care until she passed away. Mickie, as most people affectionately known her, has always been a strong and resilient woman, a fighter who fought to live, love, and inspire until her last breath.
Mickie was patient, kind, wise, generous, resourceful, ingenious, faithful, compassionate, and loyal. She was comfort for the hurting, spiritual balm for the wounded, light for those in the darkness, clarity for the confused, shelter for the homeless, a listening ear for the unheard, nourishment for the hungry, and love for the unloved. She deeply loved her family and proclaimed prior to her passing that her final divine assignment was to be a bridge for her divided family. She insisted that her passing would bring her family closer and it did. Mickie fulfilled her purpose in life, to love, to serve God and to be light and salt in the lives of all who crossed her path. God is pleased with her, a good and faithful servant.
Mickie, Mickie Lou, Ms. Mickie, Mom, Mama, Grams, Grandma and Granny was a spiritual guide, creative visionary, artistic genius, faithful confidant, protector of children, wise soul, patient teacher, and loyal friend to many. Mickie was a trend-setting entrepreneur, iconic fashion designer, spectacular interior designer, God-sent visionary, and loving homemaker and devoted mother. Most importantly, Mickie was a lover and loved her family with a spirit of grace, forgiveness and acceptance. All she ever wanted was her family to love her and to love each other. Mickie, a chosen one, was favored by God.
Her Glory

She discovered a love for sewing and once she mastered it sewing and fashion design became her passion and enterprise. Mickie became the sole proprietor and CEO of Sparkle Fashions™ at a time when entrepreneurship was uncommon in the Black community. Mickie created extravagant, one-of-kind clothing and hosted fashion shows featuring her designs which led to her becoming a local designer icon.
