Bob Gilmore

January 28, 1970 — May 26, 2025

Omaha

Bob Gilmore, 55, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.

Born in Great Bend, Kansas, Bob grew up with a deep appreciation for family, hard work, and laughter. He pursued his education at Fort Hays State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and, more importantly, met the love of his life, Mindy. The two were married in 1996 but began their life together, moving to Omaha in 1994 to build their future.

Bob dedicated much of his professional life to technical writing and most recently worked at DTN in Omaha. The technical writing community in Omaha is small and made many great friends at First Data, SPN, and DTN.

A devoted husband and father, Bob's greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mindy; his cherished daughters, Ruth (Hailey) Scott-Gilmore and Anniah Gilmore; his mother, Sylvia Gilmore; and his sisters, Debbie (Mike) Rash, Barbara Thoren, and Sandra (Dean) McMullen. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Kim Gilmore; nieces and nephews Michael Gilmore, Bryce Stoskopf, Tiffany Thoren, Matt Thoren, Eric (Courtney) Thoren, Skyler McMullen, Kaylea McMullen, Tyler Morris, Bryden Morris, Payton Morris, Cole Stuart, Emma Stuart; and a host of other loving family members and dear friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Rick Gilmore, and his nephew, Steven Gilmore.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Good Shepherd Funeral Home - 90th Chapel. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM. A luncheon will follow in the Reception Hall at Good Shepherd Funeral Home.

Bob will be remembered for his quiet strength, sharp wit, deep love for his family, and the lasting impact he had on those fortunate enough to know him.
