Robert E. Holbert, Jr. was born on April 7, 1949, in Omaha, Nebraska, to his loving parents, Alice J. Holbert and Robert Eugene Holbert, Sr. He was the oldest of ten siblings. Robert passed away on March 15, 2026.
Robert was a loving father, brother, husband, brother-in-law, and friend. He was deeply devoted to his family and cherished the relationships he built throughout his life.
Robert began his working life at Mastercraft Furniture, following in his father’s footsteps as an upholsterer. He later proudly served his country in the United States Army. After completing his military service, Robert continued his career with Kellogg’s and then Campbell’s Soup, where he worked until the company closed. In his later years, he worked for Omaha Public Schools as a custodian, followed by positions with Pier Moving Furniture and Walmart, where he warmly greeted customers. After his time at Walmart, Robert retired to enjoy the years he had earned through a lifetime of hard work.
Robert was a quiet reserved man. Despite his quiet nature, he shared a deep bond with his family and friends. He made it a priority to stay connected with his siblings, whether through phone calls or visits. He especially cherished time spent at his oldest sister’s home during Thanksgiving and Christmas. Robert found joy in the simple pleasures, including playing cards, Keno, dining out, and visiting the casino. He will be remembered for his steady presence, his loyalty to family, and the meaningful relationships he maintained throughout his life.
