Robert Jay Poland, Jr.

Robert Jay Poland, age 78, passed away peacefully at Florence Home on July 4, 2023. He was born on December 16, 1944, to Clinton Frank (Jay) Poland and Hope Virginia (Rawley) Poland, in Council Bluffs IA.

Robert was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs IA. Upon graduation, Robert joined the United States Air Force and served for a little over 5 years. He returned to Omaha NE with his wife and started a family.

A draftsperson by trade, Robert worked for Lozier Corporation for 19 years until retiring in July of 2020. Robert enjoyed photography, reading, and volunteering at the Omaha Community Playhouse.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister LouAnne Thompson in September of 2022.

Robert is survived by his children Robert Poland, Christine Taggart, and Sean Poland. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jesse, Aliyah and Piper Taggart and his sister, Barbara McCormick.
