Robin was born in Kingsville, TX to Merlyn Hawn and Gloria Thebeau Hawn.
As a child her dad was in the Navy, and she moved all over the country finally settling in Bedford, Iowa. She was her mother's little helper, always protecting her sisters, watching over and making sure they were safe. At a young age, Robin married and moved to Vinita, Oklahoma where she gave birth to her first daughter, Nola Francine in 1976.
She would eventually move closer to family in Iowa where she entered into marriage in 1991, and had her second daughter, Sterling Jasmine (Jazzy), in 1992. During this time, she also worked very hard to earn her LPN Nursing Degree and moved to Chariton, Iowa. Robin worked as an LPN nurse in Carlisle, Iowa where she made many friends including a lifelong friend in Barb Medici. Robin had her final child, Krete in 1995, while living in Stanton Iowa. Robin began working as a nurse at the Glenwood State Hospital in 2007 until she began as a traveling nurse in 2017 where she combined her love for traveling and exploring new places with her strong work ethic. Robin retired after 30 fulfilling years as a nurse in 2024, after her cancer diagnosis.
Robin will be remembered as hardworking whose greatest joy was her children and especially her grandchildren, she was deeply kind and giving to others and instilled that same kindness in her kids, both through her words and the way she lived her life. To her grandkids, she was the best "Nanny" - known for her unforgettable smooches and love of coloring side by side. Her bubbly personality shone brightest when she was singing songs and blasting music, even if she didn't always get the words right.
Robin also had a natural eye for style, whether it was through fashion, accessorizing, or creating beautiful spaces in her home. Her jewelry collection was as vibrant as her personality, and she took pride in decorating, always making her house feel welcoming and full of character. Friends and family will fondly remember the unique touches she loved most, especially her cherished rooster, mirror and grape collections that became part of her signature charm.
She will be missed by all who knew her.
