Roddie Jean Marie Miller

December 11, 1948 — July 25, 2022

Roddie leaves behind John, her loveable Wheaten Terrier, Desoto and many friends.

Roddie was born in Riverside, California, the only child of military parents. She went to grade school in Japan, and high school in Kansas City, Missouri.

Roddie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Language Arts from Dana College in Blair, Ne., a Masters in Education from Hays, Kansas and a Masters in Administration from Creighton University, Omaha, Ne.

Her teaching career started in 1977 where she taught Language Arts to junior and senior high students in Elkhorn, Ne. During that time she also served as the head of the English Department.

Roddie worked many years for Omaha Public Schools starting in October 1997, first as a teacher then as the administrator in the Office of School Safety, overseeing the safety of students and staff for the school district. She retired from the District in August 2016.

Roddie loved her Wheaten Terrier dogs, was an avid reader and a loving and supportive friend who enjoyed relaxing, fishing and hunting with John and entertaining friends and family at the Lake of the Ozarks. Her loving smile and infectious laugh will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

We would like to thank the caretakers from Key Homecare and Suncrest Hospice for the care they gave to Roddie.

Per Roddie's wishes there will be no funeral service.

Please consider a memorial gift to Suncrest Hospice in Roddie's name.
