Rosetta “Summerville” Tompkins was born in Aliceville, AL to the late Miller and Nellie Scarbrough Summerville on June 21, 1940. She was united in holy matrimony to the late John E. Tompkins Sr.
She was a deaconess of Price of Peace Baptist Church; and retired from Bergan Mercy Hospital. She also volunteered for different religious services. She was a devoted wife and mother, she was loving and caring and would help anyone. She also loved to sign and was an excellent cook.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories children Lorenzo Tompkins (deceased); Barry (Lisa) Tompkins, John (Lillie) Tompkins Jr., Clara (Denise) Tompkins, Humphrey Tompkins (deceased) all of Omaha, NE, and Maurice (Donela) Tompkins of Minneapolis; her sister Ann Franklin of Chicago, IL; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers William Humphrey Summerville, B.J. Summerville; and sister Ruthie Lee Bradford
