Samuel Shelby Jr.

Samuel Shelby Jr. was first born son of Samuel Shelby Sr. and Helen M. Shelby. On December 8, 1953 in Omaha Nebraska a life long native. Sam had a joyful childhood and a noted prankster. He was very opinionated and not bashful stating his feelings. Growing up on the Northside of Omaha he shared many fond memories with neighborhood friends. Especially with his cherished cousins Gary, Ronnie, and Rocky Davis.

He attended classes in the Omaha Public School District but obtained his GED while member of job corps. Prior to his disability Sam held a number of entry level positions. Sam was always ahead of the fashion trends. With his style of bold designs, bright colors and matching hats. He prided himself on being well groomed with special emphasis on his big natural Afro styled hair.

With his comical nature he was a favorite uncle for his many nieces and nephews. Vernon ( Lee), Levi (Bobbles), John Jr. Kevin, Charles Jr. Ricky, Chalawnda and great niece and nephews. He enjoyed dancing, clubbing, and dining out. He developed a sense of mental balance by reading the bible and reciting scriptures.

He was preceded in death by his precious daughter Kimberly Wilson, loving parents, sister Sandra ( Sandy) Shelby and nephew Levi Brown Jr. ( Bobbles)

Sam is survived by sons Troy Wilson, Traveli Shelby, granddaughters CynTaijah and Royal Wilson. Siblings Priscilla Shelby, Charles Shelby Sr, Kimberly Black, sister in law Bevlan Shelby and uncle Edward Williams. With many additional family, friends and loved ones.
