Saul O. Garcia passed away on April 15, 2026, in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 83 years. He was born on August 10, 1942, in Coahuila, Mexico.
Saul is preceded in death by his son, Joab Garcia.
He is survived by his wife, Nohemi C. Garcia (of 65 years of marriage); his children: Saul Garcia, Isaac Garcia, Otoniel Garcia, Diana Linares, Martha Moreno, Raquel Carrillo, Jonathan Garcia, Soren Garcia, Dina Viramontes, Arianna Solis, and Marco Garcia; 37 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren; his brother Santiago Garcia; and nieces, nephews, and other family.
Saul O. Garcia was born in Coahuila, Mexico, on August 10, 1942. His childhood was somewhat difficult, as he was the third of five brothers and two sisters.
His life changed when he met his wife, Nohemi Carreon. They married very young in Laredo, Tamaulipas-he was 19 years old and she was 15. Together they had 6 children: 3 sons and 3 daughters.
God saved him during a revival meeting, baptized him with the Holy Spirit, and at the same time called him to preach. For a time, he helped in preaching at the Assemblies of God church in Laredo, Tamaulipas with Pastor Ruben Campos.
During this time, his third son, Otoniel, began having epileptic seizures. This reminded Saul of God's calling on his life, and he promised God that if He healed his son, he would go and preach the Gospel. God healed his son, and Saul fulfilled his promise, leaving everything to preach the Gospel.
Pastors Garcia were the first to bring the Gospel to the state of Zacatecas, which was a predominantly Catholic region. Within four years, they had two more children and founded four churches-one in the city of Zacatecas and three in surrounding towns. In this, they saw the hand of God supplying all their needs. Their story is recorded in the history of the Assemblies of God, recognizing them-along with their eight children-as pioneers.
He was then sent to Ciudad Frontera, Coahuila, where he pastored Templo Siloe for 13 years and founded CAS, Centro de Avivamiento Siloe. There, God blessed them with 4 more children-2 daughters and 2 sons (now 12 children total).
After this, God brought him to Dallas, Texas, where he preached in various churches and also served as a teacher at the Bethania Bible Institute.
After five years, God led him to Omaha, Nebraska, where he was one of the pioneers and paved the way for the preaching of the Word of God among the Hispanic community of Omaha. He pastored Centro Cristiano La Roca Church until last year, when he handed over the pastorate to his son Jonathan, who had served as co-pastor throughout all those years. However, he continued to preach at the church.
After suffering two falls at home that caused head injuries, he recovered, but later suffered a stroke while eating at home. After 8 days in the hospital, where he was progressing in his recovery, he passed away peacefully in his hospital bed.
The servant of God has already finished his race. What remains for him is the crown of righteousness.
