Sheree Bessey

Sheree Bessey, 70, passed away on November 13, 2025 in Nebraska City, NE

She was born on June 6, 1955 in Omaha, NE, to Lloyd Mackey and Joyce Mackey. Sheree graduated from Bryan High School.

She worked at Mutual of Omaha for numerous years before becoming a Homemaker in 1993. 

Sheree married Gary Bessey on Halloween 10-31-1979 in Omaha, NE. The couple had 3 children, Richard Mackey, Angela Bessey and Nicholas Bessey. 

Sheree was best known for her love for her children and grandchildren and the newest addition her great grandson. She loved them all unconditionally and never let a holiday or birthday go by without a phone call or three. Everyone that she met became her friend, her laughter and humor were contagious and there was rarely a serious moment around her. 

Sheree is preceded in death by her husband Gary Bessey, parents Lloyd and Joyce Mackey, brothers, James Mackey and Steven Mackey. 

Sheree is survived by her children Richard (Penny) Mackey, Angela Bessey, and Nicholas Bessey of Omaha, NE. siblings, Barbara Welshinger and Thomas Mackey. Grandchildren:Patrick, Michael, Joshua, James, Megan, Joyce, Anthony and Grace, and great grandson Josiah. 

A Celebration of Life for Sheree Bessey will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025 at 2:00 PM at L Street Chapel - Good Shepherd Funeral Home. The visitation will begin at 1:00pm.
