Steven Bradley Tollett

Steven Bradley Tollett, known to family and friends as Steve, passed away peacefully at home in Papillion, Nebraska, on August 25, 2026, at the age of 62, surrounded by family.

Born on February 20, 1964, in Amarillo, Texas, Steve lived a life defined by perseverance, loyalty, and a deep love for family, friends, and the simple joys of everyday life. He was the kind of person who could make others feel welcome with an easy conversation, a good story, and a warm smile.

For more than 30 years, Steve worked as a printing press operator for Tilford Printing, Great Plains Printing, and the Omaha World-Herald. He spent countless hours running large industrial printing presses, dedicating much of his life to demanding work that helped provide for himself and those he loved. While the work never defined him, the grit, resilience, and sense of responsibility he brought to it reflected the kind of person he was. 

Outside of work, Steve found his greatest happiness in the outdoors. He loved fly fishing, bonfires, motorcycles, movies, grilling good food, sharing a cold beer with friends, and trying his luck playing Keno. He enjoyed traveling to Mexico and could often be found relaxing with his favorite crime shows. A lifelong sports fan, Steve faithfully supported both the Dallas Cowboys and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Despite years of evidence suggesting he should know better, his loyalty to both teams never faltered. He adored his beloved cat, Chester, enjoyed walking the dogs around the apartment complex with Anna, and treasured time spent with family and friends. Steve had a goofy sense of humor and a way of making ordinary moments memorable. Family and friends were often greeted with his signature "Howdy", a simple word that became a running joke and a reminder of his playful spirit. It's impossible to hear it without thinking of Steve.

Steve is survived by his loving partner, Anna Stohlman; his stepdaughter, Ashleigh Stohlman and her husband, Michael; and his stepson, Sean Stohlman. He held a special place in his heart for Ashleigh and Sean and treasured the many memories they shared as a family.

He is also survived by his brother, Kevin Tollett and his partner, Tammy; their daughter, Mickayla Cooper; his brother, Danny Tollett and his wife, Tracy; and his sisters, Cassie "Cassa" Inge and her husband, Steve, and Melissa Roberts. He leaves behind his niece, Desiree Pope and her husband, Max; his nephew, Eric Pointer; along with extended family members and many dear friends who will cherish his memory. 

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Leon Tollett; his mother, Thyra Marcia "Marcy" Tollett; and his grandparents, whose love and influence remained with him throughout his life.

Steve leaves behind a lifetime of memories, inside jokes, stories, and laughter. He had a gift for finding enjoyment in the simple things and sharing that joy with the people around him. Whether you knew him as a fishing buddy, a Cowboys fan, a Keno partner, or simply the guy who greeted you with a cheerful "Howdy"; his absence will be deeply felt. The memories he created and the love he shared will remain with his family and friends forever.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Good Shepherd Funeral Home in Omaha, Nebraska. Light refreshments will be served. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance, and a few brief remarks celebrating Steve's life will be shared at approximately 3:00 p.m.
