Thomas P.
Tomoser Sr.
July 11, 1939 – March 24, 2026
Thomas Paul Tomoser, Sr. 86, passed away peacefully at home in Omaha, NE on March 24, 2026, attended to by his beloved wife, Rosmery and in the care of hospice. Tom was born in Buffalo, New York, to Herbert and Margaret Tomoser and grew up with his three sisters in a close-knit family. His early years in Buffalo shaped the independent spirit and determination that carried him through the many chapters of his life.
As a young man, Tom served in the United States Navy during peacetime as a cook, a role that suited his practical nature. After his military service, he went on to build a life marked by hard work, risk-taking, and reinvention. A pivotal moment occurred in 1976 when Tom joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and committed himself to growing closer to God and his Son, Jesus Christ. Tom was a prayerful man and often remarked how grateful he was for the Lord’s inspiration to guide him in his life’s journey.
In the early 1980s, while working in the meat packing industry, he founded and operated a leather goods and meat byproduct business, embracing the challenges of entrepreneurship. His primary product was calf hides that became leather parchment paper utilized by his Israeli customers to produce sacred Jewish Torah scrolls. In later years he operated an independent taxi service and was a dependable security guard prior to his retirement at age 83.
Music was one of Tom’s greatest passions. He loved to write songs, sing, and share his music with anyone who would listen. He recorded and sold his own CDs and digital streams, proud to see his creativity take tangible form and reach beyond his home office and into the hands of others. He was also an avid golfer, hunter and dog trainer and was especially fond of labrador retrievers.
Tom’s life was full and complex, and he built a large extended family along the way. He is survived by his wife Rosmery Tomoser, children Kathleen, Thomas Paul Jr., John, Stephanie, Daniella, and stepson Steve, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and sister Phyllis. He especially treasured his later years as a father to his youngest daughter, Daniella.
Those who knew Tom will remember a man who lived life on his own terms, followed his interests wherever they led, worked long and hard every day, belted out his favorite hymns, and left behind a lifetime of stories, music, and memories. His family will carry those stories forward, sharing them with the youngest members of the next generation.
The Memorial Service will be Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 11027 Martha St., Omaha, NE 68144.
