Timothy Franklin

June 9, 1967 — July 24, 2024

Timothy Terrell Franklin was born on June 9th 1967 in Omaha, Nebraska to Paulette Marie Franklin and Voyage Franklin Jr.

He shared this special birthday with his brother Jeffrey Jerome Franklin who was born on that date 3 years prior. Tim lived in Omaha, Nebraska until he joined the Marines in 1985 where he was stationed in Fort Pendleton - San Diego, California.

After his military service ended, Tim settled in the Redlands and Rancho Cucamonga areas of California where he lived for more than 30 years.

Tim started his professional career in management at the Gary Sherman Volkswagen auto dealership where he worked as a manager and eventually worked his way up the professional ladder to become the general manager. After years of managing the Volkswagen location, Tim moved to another location of the Gary Sherman auto dealerships selling Volvos as the general manager. After years of auto dealership management, Tim shift gears and started as a night auditor working for the Marriott hotel chain. In true fashion, Tim's incredible work ethic allowed him to be promoted to general manger of the hotel. Tim moved back to Omaha, Nebraska during the pandemic in 2020, where Tim worked in hotel management at the Holiday Inn Express - Irvington. Tim's long career in auto and hotel management spanned a period of 35 years.

Tim welcomed a beautiful daughter Tiani Arie James-Franklin into the world, along with her mother Toni Renee James on August 22, 2002 at San Antonio Community Hospital in San Bernardina, California. Tim was a devoted father, and special pride in the close relationship he shared with the daughter. Tim loved the beach and would often go to Laguna beach with his daughter to enjoy the sun and the ocean. As a father Tim was loving, steadfast, patient and ever-present.

Tim had a passion for the culinary arts and would spend hours in the kitchen cooking and talking to family while he prepared meals for his family. Family was important to Tim and he worked hard to maintain those close ties to family throughout his life. Tim was particularly close to his mother and was a devoted son always dutiful, generous, caring and respectful.

Tim is survived by his mother Paulette Marie Franklin; father Voyage Franklin Jr; his two brothers Voyage Franklin III and Jeffrey Jerome Franklin; and his daughter Tiani Arie James-Franklin.
