Troy Harris Jr. was born to Mattie Pearl & Troy Harris Sr. on June 6,1937 in Atlanta Georgia. He attended Young Street Elementary School in which he completed the 1st -7th grade. He later attended Washington and Turner High in which he completed the 8th-12th grade. He graduated from Turner High school in June of 1954.
After completing high school and enlisted in the United States Airforce in which he served his country proudly for 21 years. In those twenty-one years he had the opportunity of being stationed at Offutt A.F.B., Newfound, France, Germany, and McGuire A.F.B. in Trenton, New Jersey.
In February of 1957 he joined in union Frances Sloan Harris and to that union where 2 children. He later returned to Offutt A.F.B. in Omaha, Nebraska where he completed his active duty and retired in 1975. After retiring from the Air Force he then was employed by Civil Service for 12 years at Offutt A.F.B. on the same job that he had when he was in the Air Force.
Following his 12 years at Civil Service he was then employed with the United States Postal Service for 15 years. After 15 long-proud years he retired from the Postal Service on October 2, 2002. It was God's GRACE AND MERCY that enabled Troy Harris Jr's 48 years of service a Great Success!!!!!
Services will be held on Thursday (5/15/2025) at Good Shepherd Funeral Home - 90th Chapel. Visitation from 10:00 - 11:00 AM with Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Burial with military honors to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Omaha NE.
