Tyree Emerson Webster-Wax

Tyree Emerson Webster Wax III passed away on June 27, 2026, at the age of 40. His passing leaves an immeasurable space in the lives of the many people who knew him, loved him, laughed with him, learned from him, and were fortunate enough to have him in their corner.

Tyree was a caring, selfless, and deeply loving person who rarely asked for much from anyone, yet was always willing to give what he could to others. He was one of the most resilient people you could ever meet—the kind of person you wanted beside you when life got hard. He loved fiercely, whether it was his family, his children, his friends, or the people he welcomed into his life along the way.
Above all, Tyree was a proud father to his two beautiful children, Aaliyah Webster Wax and Tyree Webster Wax IIII. His capacity to care for others extended beyond his own children, and throughout his life he served as a father figure, protector, and source of encouragement to several others.

Tyree believed in helping people. He gave his time generously, volunteering with various organizations and stepping in wherever and whenever he felt he could make a difference. He was a hard worker who took pride in earning what he had and never expected life to simply hand him anything.
His own life experiences also gave Tyree a heart for people navigating mental health and addiction challenges. He became an advocate for others, courageously sharing pieces of his own journey to help humanize lived experiences that are too often misunderstood or judged. Tyree understood that every person has a story, and he was willing to use his own to help others feel a little less alone.
He was intelligent, curious, and always hungry to learn something new. He was also incredibly creative. A talented artist and skateboarder, Tyree had a deep appreciation for fashion, tattoos, sneakers, art, and music spanning just about every genre imaginable. He had his own unmistakable style and presence—and, of course, a legendary head of curls that never went unnoticed.

Tyree had a personality that could light up a room and a laugh you wished you could sit in forever. He could make people feel seen, protected, entertained, challenged, and loved—sometimes all in the same conversation.
At the time of his passing, Tyree was on a journey of growth, self-discovery, and understanding. He was determined to continue learning who he was and finding his own way forward. His journey, like all of ours, was not always easy or linear, but his resilience remained one of his greatest strengths.

Tyree is survived by his mother, Herbene Hogan Wax; his children, Aaliyah Webster Wax and Tyree Webster Wax IIII; and his siblings, Justin Webster, Tyrina Webster, Morrel Wax, Margurite Harris, Antwain Foster, Britne Wax, Tylina Foster, and Nate Bailey. He also leaves behind a large extended family and an even larger community of friends and loved ones whose lives were touched by his presence.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tyree Webster and grand parents Elaine and Morrel Wax and aunt Stephanie Golden and uncle Leon Golden.

Tyree will be greatly missed by so many, but his family believes the best way to honour him is not simply to mourn his passing, but to celebrate the life, love, laughter, creativity, resilience, and unforgettable personality he shared with the world.

A wake will be held on July 29, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd (3809 N 90th St. Omaha, Nebraska).

A Celebration of Life will take place onAugust 22, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Scando Hall (7575 Crown Point Ave. Omaha, Nebraska).
This will not be a typical memorial service. In true Tyree fashion, it will be a celebration—a reflection of his larger-than-life personality and the things, people, culture, music, art, and community he loved.

Tyree loved hard. He gave freely. He fought through more than most people knew. And through it all, he remained unforgettable.

His story does not end here. It lives on in his children, his family, his art, the people he helped, the people he loved, and every room that will forever remember the sound of his laugh.
