William J. Lane

William Joseph Lane, 84, AKA Joe, passed away on May 2, 2025, in Omaha, NE.

Born December 8,1940 in St. Louis, Missouri to his parents, Annie M. Stringfellow Lane and Robert B. Lane. His siblings Roberta Ann Lane Hall and Muhammad AK Sharif.

After his parents moved their family to Omaha, his father and mother a minister and evangelist became the pastor and founder of Power House Church they purchased the property located on Browne St. , Power House His Mother Annie Lane was instrumental in keeping the church, after the demise of pastor Robert Lane.

He was married to Florence Henderson Lane , and to this union a daughter Felicia Lane Edwards was born.

He is preceded in death by Father Robert B.Lane, mother Annie M. Lane and sister Roberta Hall. Survived by daughter Felicia Lane Edwards, grandson’s Christian D. Lane Sr. , Cameron T. Edwards and great grandson, Christian D. Lane Jr. (Texas), brother Muhammad Sharif. aunts Josephine McIlwain and Allie V. Moore (Alabama). Nephews Nigel Malik and Bruce Davis. He was affectionately known as Papajo by his grandsons and great grandson CJ.

Services will be held on Friday (5/16/2025) at Power House Church, 2553 Browne Street, Omaha NE 68111. Visitation from 10 - 11 AM with Funeral Service at 11 AM. Burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery,Omaha, NE. Following the graveside service, there will be a repass at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Reception Hall, 3809 N 90th Street, Omaha NE 68134.
