From an early age, Yolanda was known for her compassion, resilience, and unwavering commitment to caring for others. Those who knew her often spoke of her quiet strength, generous heart, and the way she made everyone feel seen and valued. At age 10, she received Christ as her personal Savior at St. Matthew’s Baptist Church in Vacaville, California, and became active in the Youth Ministry, Youth Choir, and Vacation Bible School.

Education and Journey

Yolanda graduated from Will C. Wood High School in 1992 in Vacaville, California. She later relocated to Omaha, Nebraska, to be near family and friends. Her faith continued to be a guiding force in her life, and she never lost sight of God’s love, grace, and mercy.

Life of Love and Service

Yolanda built a life centered on faith, family, and friends. She was previously employed at the Child Saving Institute, where she was admired for her dedication, integrity, and the kindness she extended to colleagues and clients alike. Yolanda always sought ways to uplift those around her, often serving as a surrogate mother or “Auntie” to her children’s friends and family members. She was loved by everyone who encountered her.

Personal Interests and Legacy

Yolanda found joy in writing poetry, cooking, listening to music, Food Network and park adventures. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and welcome. Her wisdom, gentle humor, and unwavering love leave a lasting imprint on all who were blessed to know her. She maintained that she would be okay and always requested two sodas and a bag of chips for Qmarr and Ja’mira if you happened to be en route to JNJ Store. She always ended her in-person and telephone conversations with a heartfelt

“I LOVE YOU.”

Yolanda is survived by her children Stalonda (James) Bullion-Golden, Meri Cartwright, and Qmarr Harden (Omaha); parents Otis and Agnes (Midwest City, OK); grandchild Ja’mira; sister Yvonne Meri Bullion (Oklahoma City, OK); aunts and uncles; and a host of close family and loved ones.
