Born November 8, 1952 – December 10, 2025
Yvette Louise Davis attended St. Cecilia’s Cathedral grade school until the 8th grade and graduated from Technical High School. She furthered her education at Stewart’s School of Beauty. As a hair stylist she helped others bring out the confidence they needed to live their best life. An adventurous spirit took her to Indianapolis where she married Harold Davis. Not forgetting her roots she returned home to Omaha, Nebraska.
Yvette was a very strong woman and spiritual support to those in need. She attended services religiously at Sacred Heart Church. She loved to sing in the choir and was faithful in the spirit of the gospel. It brought her joy to listen to a friend in need or encourage a family member in their daily lives, especially if on their journey back to reconnecting with the Lord. A loyal and loving sister, Yvette was a strong woman of conviction that cherished those around her. As a mother to her son James, she loved children and nurtured them in her sister Sally’s daycare for over 10 years. Yvette lived her life spreading Faith, Hope, and Love as an active member in the Nights of Peter Claver ladies auxiliary since 2023.
She blessed many with her deep ambition and strong influence in helping others to move ahead in life and overcome many obstacles. Chronic illness throughout the years never diminished her spirit as she continued to smile and profess her love of God. Yvette succumbed to illness at Hillcrest Nursing Facility in Omaha (December 10, 2025). She was surrounded by loving family and friends.
Yvette is preceded in death by her parents Richard and Edna, sister and brothers Yvonne, Rodney, and Alex. As well as her son’s, James and Harold. She leaves to mourn her sister Leuwania (brother in law Gene), sister Sally (brother in law James), brother Pierre, her extended family from Kansas and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Graveside services will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery Monday, December 29, 2025 at 12 noon. Followed by Celebration of Life at Big Mama’s Kitchen (2112 N. 30th St. suite 201).
