Obituary

We gather to celebrate the life of a truly remarkable woman, Jean Neneman. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who touched so many lives with her love and kindness.

Jean was married to the love of her life, George, for 58 years and together they owned and ran Ferds Bake Shop, where her creativity flourished in holiday and seasonal decorations. She was a devoted mother to her two daughters and was so proud of her five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Her passion for nature and creativity was evident in her time spent as "Mudpie Jean" at Fontenelle Forest, where she ran the children's Mudpie Program and taught so many young children about the wonders of the forest. She was always coming up with new crafts to keep the children entertained. The families she met held a very special place in her heart.

Even in her later years, Jean continued to share her love of nature and crafting with her great-grandchildren. She could frequently be found gardening, bird/ deer watching and feeding the rabbits and squirrels in the backyard.

Jean left a lasting impression on so many people, and her kindness, creativity, and love of nature will continue to inspire future generations. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and she will be deeply loved and remembered always.

Jean is preceded in death by her husband, George Neneman; grandson Alex Thiele, great - grandson Gavin Targy; parents John and Sylvia Trecek; and her sister Marilyn Baker.

She is survived by her daughters Julia Thiele (Ray) and Christine Kathman (Duane Amsbaugh); grandchildren Alysa Targy (John), John Thiele, Madison Smith (Nick), Stephanie Kaluf (Shane); great grandchildren Ethan Targy, Ellie Jean Targy, Liam Kaluf, Rose Kaluf, and Owen Kaluf; brother John Trecek (Kathy); sister Marjorie Feilen; and many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
